Sanctuary Knocker, Durham Cathedral

In days gone by the knocker would be rapped by fugitives and criminals seeking sanctuary. The current knocker on the north door is a replica; the original is displayed within the Cathedral Treasures Exhibition.

A NOTE ON FRAMING

All framed prints come with a hanging clip on the reverse and bumpers to protect your walls. They are ready to hang straight away.

The frames used are high quality oak effect frames. Hard to distinguish from solid timber frames, and with an uniformity of colour and absence of nuts and prominent wood grain which can be distracting on solid oak mouldings.
